This could be happening for a number of reasons, such as:
1. Arthritis, which comes and goes, sometimes depending upon the weather. Cold weather tends to make arthritis flare up more.
2. Poor blood circulation in your legs. Are you active? Do you walk or exercise as much as you should, based on your health and age?
3. Are you taking any medications that could cause a side effect like this?
When my legs ache, I place a heating pad on my legs, and that always helps. I think heat would be better than cold. A warm bath couldn't hurt either.
There is something called "restless leg syndrome". Some new ailment doctors discovered. You may want to mention that to your doctor and see what the actual symptoms are.
Good luck and I hope you feel better.

depending on your age it could be "growing pains". My cousin is just starting into puberty and she gets muscle cramps badly in her legs sometimes. I used to get these many nights and wake up crying in pain for my mom to help me work them out.
If it is muscle related a cold pack for 15-20 mins then a heating pad helps me. If it is not muscle related I just take a couple ibuprofen. If it is really bad, which happens more for my back than my legs anymore, I have back problems now. I usually have to take a muscle relaxant and a couple T3's through the day and just take it easy.

It's called Restless Leg Syndrome- my doctor put me on Cilostazol-100mg. It cost 75.00 a month with no insurance. It thins the blood due to poor circulation. You need to see your doctor. Good Luck! I also put myself on B-12 shots, trying to improve my health. You may want to wear a medical bracelet if your doctor puts you on this or any other kind of blood thinner, incase you have an accident, before surgery, so that they know that you are on a blood thinner.

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Consult a doctor if it persists. You can also look for information in the web. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

Restless Legs. It could be a potassium deficiency. Another thing could be that you just need exercise. If you can work out and exhaust your legs muscles, relaxation becomes a beautful thing.

If they really hurt you should see a doctor. It may just be poor circulation and it may be treated with vitamins but I'd have it checked to make sure it's not something more serious.
