Hi,

I was wondering what does this mean or interpret into? I have to write one page essay on it.

“Come out of that box, there, and address the audience.”

Thank you!!

We all live within our own boundaries. Our culture sort of defines us. If we want to reach others, we have to "get out of that box" by taking risks outside of our comfort zones. We have to get out of the places where we feel "safe" and know exactly what to do, and instead explore new areas, with an open mind, and open heart. THEN, we can "address the audience." Then we can talk to others about our ideas and be heard.

It's sort of like if you were a doctor from Beverly Hills and you wanted to give free medicine and immunizations to needy children in an undeveloped country. You'd have to get out of your "box" by trying to be less Beverly Hills and more like their culture, and then maybe the families of that community would listen to you and allow you to treat their kids.

You'd have to speak their language, dress like them, and identify with them, for the parents to trust you.

Make sense?

It means to think out of the norm. To be different.

For instance the Geico commercials are thinking out side of the box. Not everyone gets it. The some that do think out side the box.

Einstein thought outside the box.
Da Vinci thought outside the box. Most great inventor did.

Good luck and I hope I was a starting point to get out side the box... Have fun learning this very cool topic.

Kind Regards,
Jennifer

In many theatres there are boxes, the seats that are closest to, and usually hang over, the stage. Perhaps it's someone onstage responding to someone in their box who has been speaking.

In other words, make your thoughts public.
