Salaam,
Good question. I appreciate you for asking. Are you asking what makes Jesus the Christ? Or are you asking what makes jesus?
Christ means Messaiah in greek. And that is what Muslims believe also.

Have you heard of St Thomas Aquinas:
Nature of the Trinity
Aquinas argued that God, while perfectly united, is also perfectly described by three interrelated persons. These three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) are constituted by their relations within the essence of God. The Father generates the Son (or the Word) by the relation of self-awareness. This eternal generation then produces an eternal Spirit "who enjoys the divine nature as the Love of God, the Love of the Father for the Word."
This Trinity does not exist in separation from the world. On the contrary, the Trinity serves to communicate God's self and God's goodness to human beings. This takes place through the Incarnation of the Word in the person of Jesus Christ and through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (indeed, the very essence of the Trinity itself) within those who have experienced salvation by God .

Jesus Christ is GOD.
He is the second part of the Holy Trinity of God, which is:
God the Father
God the Son (Jesus Christ)
God the Holy Spirit
much like you can be a father, a son, and a carpenter at the same time, without being three separate people.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one" 1 John 5:7
"No one has ever seen God. God's only Son, the one who is closest to the Father's heart, has made him known" John 1:18
Jesus Christ is more than a mortal prophet, Jesus is the only begotten son of GOd, meanin that Jesus was never created, but has always proceeded from God the father. For example, rays proceed from the sun. Jesus is the "chosen one" of God that saved the world of sin, and that will rule the kingdom of God.

The trinity is a false teaching. It was started back in the rome era. When they were deep in pagan worship. And then the catholics carried on this false teaching if you do research you will see that it is false. You can call him Jesus or Jesus Christ. The holy spirit is Gods active force. His power. Not a person. Trinity is not found anywhere in the bible also.

Christ comes from a Hebew word that litterally means Savior. What makes him the Christ is that he attoned for the sins of the world making it possible for us to return to live with or Father in Heaven, and by his reserection he made it possible for all mankind to be reserected, no matter what their status may be in life, thus it would be better put as Jesus the Christ

Jesus is the savior, the Holy Spirit is left on Earth to guide Christians with truth, a living conscience. God completes the triumverate... God the father, Jesus the Savior, the Holy Spirit living within us. Salvation comes only through Jesus.

What makes Jesus the Christ is that He is the Son of God, and you can call Him either one, as long as you do it respectfully, as Christians try to do. Every now and then some use His name as an expletive, but that is not a good thing.

You can call Him that because it is whom He is. He is the only begotten Son of G_D. (Yes, G_D does have a Son). He is also the only perfect sacrifice given freely for the forgiveness of sins. He is the One the BIBLE speaks of when it talks about The Lamb Who stands as if slain (before the altar of G_D). He is G_D in the flesh. He and G_D are One with the Holy Spirit. G_D is a Spirit and those who worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth. G_D is not bound by time or space as man is. You do not need to attach that (PBUH) thing to JESUS. Who HE is stands on it's own merits. I do hope you will come to embrace HIM as your savior. HE is waiting for you with open arms. With HIM you have the assurance of salvation (not some kind of guess work deal like you get with your Allah). Worship the ONE who is real and did not start out as some "moon god" Please.

The Christ soul realized that it was necessary to give humanity a pattern by which they could follow in order to return to God. The Christ soul achieved this goal by incarnating as the personality known as Jesus, who became victorious over the death of the physical body by laying aside the ego, accepting the crucifixion of the body in order to return to God. Jesus created a pattern for humans to follow. Through the acts of leading a perfect life and becoming unjustly killed, this reversed the negative karma (i.e., the law of God, an eye for an eye) which came from Jesus' first incarnation as Adam.
Yes, I know ... this is not taught in the Bible .... but consider other possibilities.
