Take this question to any good electronic equipment dealer !!
They will show you the line of DVD recorders that they have in stock---most companies will have at least ten to twelve choices in all price ranges with varying features-- they will be an excellent source for a simplified explanation of the transfer process--- it is-- in most cases -- extremely easy !!

Good luck and happy transfering !!!

Your best option is to buy a Combo DVD/VHS player/recorder, you insert your VHS and place a blank DVD and press one button. You need to buy the DVD/VHS combo recorder, not the player. Another option is to have a DVD burner installed into your computer, a video capture card and do your record like tht, but you'll be using abit of power that way.

yes, the easiest way is to buy one of those vhs dvd combo things
make sure it has a dvd burner in it.
you can use a computer too, but its very hard to do, and most people wont be able too.

The easiest way is to buy a DVD recorder/player and hook up to outputs of your VCR, when you are done with setup just play the VCR and record on your recorder.
another way is to buy a TV Tuner card for your laptop or desktop then hook up your VCR output to TV-tuner card and record the tapes on your computer then transfer to DVD using DVD Rewritable drive and Sonic MyDVD software.
good luck. Matt

Well if you bought a really expensive DVD/VCR Recorder you would have no problem. But to copy inexpensively is a no on that. Takes money to do anything nowadays.

legally, no. most store-bought vhs have a copy-block on them. there are ways to get around it if you have the technical ability, but they won't be good quality.
