The baby needs to go see another doctor. This could be a serious infection, it sounds like it. He could be allergic to the wipes. Try sitting him in warm water to clean him, only pure soaps like Ivory. He could be allergic to something that has been used on his skin. Pat his bottom dry and keep him dry, use cloth diapers until it heals. Instead of baby wipes use wet paper towels.... Try to let him spend less time in diapers, his skin needs to be able to breathe.

Most cases doctors do know best. i would keep using the cream that your doctor prescribed it probably is a 2 compound ointment one with an antibiotic and the other with a cream for the rash. Be careful about wiping with it bleeding it is more prone to an infection. My daughter got a sever diaper rash where it bled and because we were so scared to wipe her we would put her in the bath when she pooped and wipe her very lightly when she just peed. Well, she ended up getting a staph infection. If the baby gets a rash that cover her whole body that is a sign of an infection. My daughters first started on her stomach and in a matter of a few hours covered her whole body. If that happens immediatly take her to her doctors if you can get her in that day and time or go to the local childrens hospital.

sounds like a yeast infection. takes a couple of days to go away with the cream. poor little guy. the secret with that cream is "a little dab'll do ya." use it too thick, and the rash won't be able to breathe. good luck, i hope he gets better.
you can get that cream over the counter, but for your baby's sake, make sure the doctor says it IS a yeast infection.
