1/3 cup butter
1 clove crushed garlic
1/4 tablespoon dried basil
2 teaspoons dried oregano
DIRECTIONS
In a small saucepan melt butter, add garlic and saute until cooked. Add dried oregano and dried basil and stir until heated through.

I'd like the above answer but there's a couple of key elements. There is no fast way to make this. The idea is to slow pull out the elements from the garlic and not really fry it.

You want to use the smallest amount of heat possible to do this on the stovetop.

Alternatively, you could be quite wasteful (what the restaurants do) and pierce whole garlic and let it cook with butter in the oven. If you're baking something, you may be able to kill two birds with one stone. You'd fish out the whole pieces of garlic and allow the butter to cool back in the refrigerator.

to make garlic butter, you must start by clarifying your butter to make sure you have only the butter, and not the milk solids...

melt one stick butter in microwave and allow to cool about 5 minutes. spoon off the yellow part, leaving the white looking part in the bowl... this is the solids- the waste-- feel free to save for something else. mince 3 cloves garlic (or if you MUST use the dried stuff, you may- to taste) and place in the yellow part of your butter (thats the clarified part) and put back into microwave just long enough to heat it up- this releases the garlic flavor- but be careful not to burn the garlic, it gets bitter

i would take your tempura shrimp and garlic butter and serve it over uncle bens wild rice blend from a box... makes an EXCELLENT shrimp scampi! (or you could forego the tempura batter and just fry the shrimp in the butter solids in a skillet, spoon over rice and add the garlic butter to the top. it's devine- i have served it in restaraunts that way and it was a HUGE hit!

a good garlic butter recipe is chopped garlic one part to 4 parts butter ie one cup garlic to four cupps butter and some either fresh parsley finely chopped and then added in mix with a wisk and blend it in or you can use parsley from a spice container now be careful cooking the shrimp if it isnt to be fried then i suggest boiling the shrimp in just enough water to cover it for two minutes then sear in a hot pan ie get a pan really really hot then drop shrimp in after 30 seconds add garlic butter leave some on the side for a dipping sauce and cook for about 30 seconds with the butter mixture and enjoy please note answere submitted by a certified four star chef with a culinary arts degree ty

I like strong garlic in mine.... one minced clove to every half cup of real butter. Over LOW heat, simmer at least 15 minutes, no more than 30, as it will burn. Use small strainer to remove garlic, then as butter cools, remove the milk fat that has risen. The clarified garlic butter will keep three days in the fridge and can be warmed in the microwave as needed. I also use this to sauté veggies, spread on warm bread or to add to dips. Good luck!

GARLIC BUTTER

1 c. butter, softened
6 cloves garlic, minced fine
2 tbsp. finely minced parsley
2 tbsp. onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. pepper

Mix together. Can be frozen for later use. I freeze in 1/2 cup portions.
