I am pro-life, but it often seems that pro-life is only an opinion based belief. We only need an opinion to be pro-life. To save starving children takes work, money and commitment. How often do you hear someone say that they are pro-....feeding the hungry and the poor; providing shelter to the homeless; and providing medicine to the sick? Where are the bumper stickers for these causes? Where is the prayer circles for these causes? It seems much easier to have and opinion than to take action. I am not trying to down play pro-life, but we also need to realize that many more children die from lack of food, water and medicine.

Same thing. If you have unwanted babies, you'll have more children to feed. Too many people having too many kids is one reason why kids aren't getting food.

Thats an interesting question. Do you know that in the western world stock piles of food - grains etc were being burnt and when there is a glut of something such as a great hravest with oranges or apples farmers complain they cant get a good price and bulldoze their trees or let the fruit rot?

There are children living in poverty and yet we dont hear about the pro activeness by governments and larger institutions doing something about it.

There are small groups doing things for example Habitat for Humananities is a group that builds houses for people all over the world even in Australia. they get the land donated and all the building supplies and the person chose to have the house has to put 500 hours into building along with the other volunteers, and there are small church groups that get bread donated for the poor and get freezers donated to store it in but still its not enough to relieve poverty and starvation, but I suppose every bit counts - but I like your idea of bumper stickers stating these causes often in our fat western cultire we forget about these issues.

If you honestly think that we only need an "opinion" to be pro-life, there is something wrong. I get very frustrated when people claim to be pro-life and do nothing about the 3,500+ babies being killed every day in our nation while we go about our lives. Where is the action? Where are the Christians out in front of the killing centers, offering help and information? Babies CAN be saved when people are there to speak up for them. I have seen it myself and can provide story after story of women being turned away from abortion on the very day their babies were scheduled to be killed. Saving children who are being brutally dismembered alive in our own communities also takes "work, money, and commitment," and unfortunately most of the time I don't see it.

Here's why pro-lifers should DO something to stop abortion:

Here's how they can:

Now, as to your question: Of course we should try to save all innocent children from death, be it death in the womb or death from hunger. There are many, many Christians organizations which provide food, shelter, clothing, and medicine to people throughout the world and in America. Who do you think runs the majority of homeless shelters and soup kitchens in this country, and who has been shipping food, medicine, and clothing to Africa and other impoverished nations for years? Generally speaking, the organizations that do this type of thing are run by pro-life, Christian people. The pro-life Christians I know ARE involved in helping the poor in various ways, some by adopting sibling groups from Africa and in America, some by donating funds to feed children throughout the world, some by individually helping needy families as needs arise.

Our compassion need not have limits.

you're surely miraculous. there is not any reason those toddlers could be ravenous to loss of life. NONE! And, we've sufficient to feed those toddlers AND the aborted infants, if we actually tried. the subject lies with those governments, WAYF, they are those ravenous those toddlers. maximum help despatched gets confiscated for the militia. with the purpose in charge professional-lifers for that's particularly a stretch i could say. want I remind you Christian charities deliver the main help? additionally, those mum and dad are not intentionally killing those toddlers, on an identical time as abortion is an intentional act. even if we don't see eye to eye in this subject, this little rant became incredibly good, i'm hoping some human beings have been listening.

My religion teaches that we are to help and feed the poor. We also donate money to orphans and poor people the last day of Ramadan. Yes I'm a practicing Muslim. Rather my husband donates money. But yes feeding and helping the poor is more important than abortions.

Amen & amen ! Politicians have used abortion, gay marriage, etc. to incite Christian votes when in reality all they want is their agendas, monopolies and lobbying power established by being elected. If Jesus walked here in America, now instead of in the east 2 thousand years ago, I believe he would be feeding our starving neighbor, Mexico-having dinner with homosexuals and Marilyn Manson and I believe his words to the pious, judgemental churchleaders and protesting pew warmers would be NO different than those spoken to the synagogue leaders and money changers at the temple as written in the bible..." Woe to you, hypocrites! Brood of vipers ! Whitewashed tombs full of dead men's bones!" and then He'd smash the "God Hates Fags" & "Abortion is Murder" picketing signs....'cause the contempt would consume Him. If the church is so worried about abortion then why aren't they trying to minister to the women considering abortion, demonstrating Christ's love for them and considering that if they are indeed committing murder...what lack in their lives would bring them to harm their bodies/babies ? Obviously, that and many other deficits in our world call for healing...or is stopping gay marriage more important? I say, it is not!

Finally, an intelligent observation. I agree with you 100% The world is over-populated as it is. We don't need any more hungry mouths to feed. I'm not against pro-life either, but let's get priorities straight. Thanks for your astute comments.

Dude, I'd rather the woman get an abortion then get a child she doesn't want and neglect/abuse it.
