Why do certain people live like trash? I'm talking about the people with 15 cars and 45 tires in the driveway, old rusty toys and tools laying all over the lawn, and broken borded up windows. If you are sloppy, then fine, keep it indoors. I understand being poor, I have been myself. But that's no excuse to keep your parade of filth on display. These people disgust me. They aren't the only ones who have to live with it. The whole neighborhood does!

I am in no way talking about grass that's a little high or a lack of plants. I'm referring to the garbage that's spread out and piled up.

I guess Riot Grrrrl is the one we're all talking about. Clean it up lady. No one likes to live with your filth.

Because it's easier to find if it's all out in the open? Because they like to show off how much stuff they have? I've heard more than once that he who dies with the most toys wins. They think that they are winning if they show it all off!

If it's that extreme I agree, that's an eyesore. But please don't get onto people when they let their grass grow or don't keep their hedge trimmed, I like yards that are a little overgrown, have some wildflowers (also known as weeds by city folk, however many of them really are pretty, take a good look sometimes when they're in bloom!) and aren't all kept up like they're competing in an English lawn and garden competition.

Whoa now! Back when I lived in Tampa some nosy neighbors tried to make me cut my grass and clean up my yard. I got so dang mad that went out and bought four wrecked cars and trucks and parked them all over the lawn, with the hoods up! Then I painted the outside of my house gloss black with yellow shutters. The empty 55 gallon drum I had hanging from a tree branch looked really cool. The engine block on the front steps looked even better! After about 20 letters and violations mailed to my house I decided to beautify my yard so I planted giant sunflowers on my whole lawn. It took about two weeks but man -- before you knew it I had ten foot sunflowers growing all around my cars. It was so thick you couldnt see the house but it was real colorful! I finally gave up after five months of threats and citations and sold my house to --- THE NEIGHBORS! The whole street chipped in and bought my dang house. I hope they know how to kill kudzu cause there was a backyard FULL of it when I moved out.

I know! I don't get it either. It's a reflection of their person, they don't only have messy homes but everything about them is messy, chaotic, out of control. I guess they don't care and then they get so used to it it doesn't bother them. I heard on oprah or one of those talk shows that about 1/3 of people live in very messy homes, maybe not to the extreme you're describing but messy, packed with stuff. I don't understand it.

dammit man, are you pissed or what. the people in my old neighborhood every year got a petition going for me to cut my grass, signed sealed and delivered because i wanted it to go to seed and grow naturally. i also liked to sit on my front porch and watch the grass move in waves as the wind blew. could i do it? hell no. a rep. from the city came around and told me i had to cut my grass. just another simple pleasure in life gone by the wayside. life sucks

I think because they have lost respect for themselves and their environment and they get to the point where they don't care what people think anymore!!
Sad!!

Call the city and report them. I had to do that to a neighbor of mine - and they fined him until he finally quit doing it.
