why is it that girls get offended when guys look at them or just show interest in them unless they're attracted to the guy? isn't that hypocrisy? and shouldn't they take it as a compliment?

there should be a 'worst answer' option. since that doesn't exist i'm just going to say it here. CS definitely gave the worst answer. for the record, i wouldn't mind being 'harassed' every day, if harassment is simply being given compliments from women i'm not attracted to. definitely beats being ignored by women. wonder if you've ever been ignored by guys you were attrated to.

i wouldn't be offended by that...unless the guy was being a pig and making remarks bordering on harassment. most cases i would take it as a compliment.

Depends on the girl and how the guy is staring at them
1) Some girls maybe have been abused or molested, or attacked sexually, will be frightened by being stared at in a leering way
2)Some girls who are shy don't know how to react, and this not knowing how to react makes them uncomfortable so they get defensive
3)Some girls need time to feel comfortable with a guy for them to react positively to such looks, etc., it just takes a lot of women longer to warm up to a complete stranger (or even acquaintance) sexually
4) Some guys are real pigs in the way in which they stare at women
5)Don't stare too long, and give a little smile, and a mature, confident and sexually mature woman will probably enjoy it.

I always take those things as a compliment. And if the girls don't like the guy they don't need to get offended, they just need to smile and say "no thanks" that's what I do. But mostly I just smile and say "thank you soooo much" and laugh. Sometimes it may be a way a girl shows that she did notice, but she doesn't normally get talked to like that, so she thinks you are being sarcastic. But even when guys are being sarcastic to me, I make them think I took it seriously and just walk away. Don't fret about it, if a girl is a beeaatch about it then you don't need her anyway. Look for a girl who will like you.

Yes it is hypocrisy. But in this day and age you do not know when a guy or girl is going to take things too far and not back off when asked. Plus some girls just don't know how to take a compliment if they feel their body image is not up to snuff.

Usually, I do take it as a compliment. But if a guy I'm not into touches me and I sense he's getting excited about it, I may not say anything because I don't want to hurt him. But on the inside, I'm uncomfortable and thinking, "Man, I hope he doesn't go any further....I hope he doesn't think I'm interested in him...."
Some guys make me feel like I'm a pony in a petting zoo. And it makes my skin crawl.

Most of the time gurls that get offend is because they may have low self-esteem and is not use to the look that guys give her. Or on the other hand gurls may just think males only have one thing on their mind when they are looking.

Because its creepy and degrading. It's different for women than men -we are harrassed and oogled everyday. Even going to the gas station get us a stared down. If you want to look at a woman, be tasteful and make it sublte. The last thing anyone woman wants is some guy undressing her with their eyes. Uncomfortable!

....the reason girls get offended is because some guys just stare @ the girl like they gone crazy then they get tempted 2 toch our asses and and thats just perverted ! on top of that it feels wierd when a guy is lookin them up and down like dat. look heres some advice , if wanna look @ a guurl ....fine ! but dont stare and dont comment on there body type either

It depends staring at a female, can make sum thing ur a stalker and others think theres sumthing wrong wit dem. If u like a female give a smirk and a slight wave, then go up to her, in a positive way. Make sure to observe the girl to see wat she might like 4 future conversations
