I've been in a relationship, in a long term marriage...now peacefully divorced few years now. When I was in a relationship and shared a home. . . I poured my milk or juice into a glass. Now that I'm on my own . . . If I want a small drink I'll drink directly out of the milk carton or juice container.

Do you drink directly out of the container ? If so...when ? While still sharing a home with another ? Do they know you do this? Do you only drink directly out of the container when you are single ? OR . . . do you never drink directly out of the milk or juice container.

Is it gross to do this ?
.

.
" Mrs. Z " . . . Maybe that's why I do that more now. There has recentlly been a custody change with my teen kids in last two months...They wanted to explore living with their dad a bit more...I still see them, but they don't live with me 80% like they used to. I've never lived on my own before this, and maybe this is a part of my own exploring my new ' space ' alone in my home more. I miss them . . . yet have more of my own time...and drink out of the carton. Appreciated your's and the other answers. I'll not worry about those little things as drinking out of milk and juice containers.

When I was single I did it all the time. It was my "screw you it's ALL MINE" phase and I never thought it was gross. If I did that now my kids would love it, but they would want to do it too!

I don't think it's gross at all!!!! It just means its yours, all yours.

Yes, I'll be honest, I've drank out of several containers. Pop bottles, juice, milk bags. And I still live at home with my mom.

Actually, she used to tease me about it. There'd be times when she'd go to get some milk and the bag would be all weirdly shaped cause I'd been drinking from it as a kid. Lol.

I don't think it's bad in certain cases .I wouldn't do it if I knew various other people would be drinking it, but I feel confident with my mom because I know we're both not sick or whatever. Also, we share food and drinks sometimes anyway.

It is very gross to do this... but i am still guilty!

I have been known to down the last few swallows of something from the container, then rinse it and trash it... but I NEVER drink from the container when there is still some in it!! I have other ppl living in my home- my family- I would never risk their health by possibly passing a cold or other illness on unknowingly, but in a way that could be prevented.

Even when I was single, I did not do this except with the last few bits of something-- what if I had company??

one last thought- I think the smell of the neck of the milk jug is NASTY! it smells like spoiled milk... found that out the hard way...

The only time I drink directly from the container is when there won't be anything left after I drink it. I live with other people now, but I did the same thing even when I was single.

You do have to worry about "sharing" germs with other people.

LOL Well since its just me and my little one right now (hubby in military). I do drink from the container, but if he comes in the kitchen I try to hide it. I buy seperate juice for us since I do this. I don't drink milk from the container or a glass, the taste of plain milk bothers me. I have to have milk with cereal or something else.

I NEVER drink out of the container unless it is small (like 8 oz) and then finish it. The reason I don't is because I don't even want my ~own~ germs on the lip where the bacteria can grow, and then to put my mouth BACK again on the lip, to moldy bacteria. Ewwwwwwwww. What's currently in my mouth is enough ... I don't need to compound it with day-old stuff.

I have never drank straight from the milk carton. I do buy juice that only I drink and will sometimes drink straight from the jug.

I do drink directly out of the container sometimes, but I live alone, so it doesn't really matter :-)
