What you feel is depended on what you’ve though, thus awareness allows you to cut off the negative though before it flows into your heart.

I don’t have time to answer your question in detail, but I think, I am agree with you that awareness may not be able to control the Shock but I don’t know about the Monk/Priest because these people have really strong consciousness or awareness. But generally speaking, awareness can control your thought, most people feel unhappy most of the time (not talking about disorder/illness) is because they do not realize that when they think about negative thought, they are starting to feel upset/sad right away and then the bad feeling starting to summon the bad experiences and eventually will make you remember the really bad experience. Most people don’t realize that they only have a couple minutes of awareness in a day(My opinion only ^_^); most of the time they are wandering around in the Dark Network(think about the pass, present and future). Dark Network – Word that used by neuroscience, meaning that your mind wanders to the pass, present and future.

"Your feelings depends upon your perception, therefore being alert to your surroundings permits you to prevent negative / evil thoughts before you truly believe in them."

You have to have common sense and logic & don't always trust your feelings because feelings are sometimes illogical.

That's why they say that "You can't explain love" or those kind of things 'cuz its based on feelings not logical thinking.

EDIT: by "being alert to one's surroundings" I meant by thoroughly analyzing and criticquing the situation.

I think its interesting but incorrect as well. Because you are aware of your thoughts does not mean that your mind is not permeable enough to allow other factors to influence you. You would have to be a very cold and structured indvidual for this saying to ring true. Most people are often too weak to be detailed and structured enough to find the common thread that connects their brains to their feelings.

For instance,

Someone killed your mother ( i dont mean to be dramatical but this is an example im using). Awareness alone cant cut off the negative feelings.. its negative for a REASON!! This will be called SHOCK! There is no AWARENESS that can eliminate the travel of my thoughts to my heart. SHOCK is a still emotion AND thought.

Sometimes there is no room to think about things, because some issues flow much too quickly for the brain to understand and all you do is exemplify the emotion.

Consider shock!!

I believe that each of us carries within us a mirror that we see all that we are aware of. We do not see directly, but from the reflection of our mirror.

Our mirror is shaped from our experiences. Some are flawless and smooth, some are warped or distorted, and some are even broken or shattered.

Our thoughts are formed from our experiences. Most of that we think is simply our mind filling in the missing pieces of what we have observed from our own past or mirror.

How we think is shaped by our emotions which are shaped from our experiences. Thoughts or words can effect many different things. A simple word like HATE can do damage in ways that we are not even aware of.

Take for instance an experiment done in Japan, where a man took words and taped them to bottles of water. The bottles were frozen, and then looked at the next day under a microscope.

The bottles with words like love, friendship, trust had crystals that were very beautiful.

The bottles with words like hate or kill had very violently shaped crystals, ugly in appearance.

If a single word can effect water like this, what can our thoughts do to us; as beings comprised mostly of water?

What do our thoughts and words do to others?

Misspelled to the point where the meaning is too ambiguous to even try to answer the question. As for awareness, that is highly subjective and meaningless to the collective subconscious.

Its the basis of cognitive behavioral therapy. We can control our thoughts which affect our feelings. It's eloquently stated though not necessarily original.

It doesn't make sense. Do you mean thought instead of through?
