have some girl on girl time.go on a huge shop fest & treat her to some lunch.have a sleepover and watch some of her fave movies. just be extra gentle with her.give her lots of hugs. i advise you : under NO circumstances tell her to get over it. be firm but understanding and eventually she'll come to. good luck :-)

Personally i dont know what to say cuz this hasnt really happened to me. Ive had times when my friends get really down because of a family problem.
Thats when i show the funny side of me. I'll take them out to see a funny movie. Take them to do their favorite activity ( just NOT boyscouting ) Take her shopping.Do something with her that she likes to do. Or try something totally new and wild. Like the demolision derby or something cool like that.

take her to her favorite place and hang-out together. watch a movie, go ice-skating, whatever you feel to do. And don't forget to hug her and tell her things will pass and she'll feel a lot better soon.
