Life is not a video game that, after you die, you can reset back to where you saved it last and try again. If you do not make the right choice now, it has terrible, terrible eternal consequences. Do you not realize that there is a fierce spiritual battle going on between God and Satan over YOUR soul right now, as you read this? Do you, the created, really think you are more intelligent than The Creator and have all the answers? Would you really choose an eternity in Hell rather that admit God exists and that Jesus Christ died to save YOU?

Dear Chef Bob -
Amen brother.

Keep on:
"standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, in no way alarmed by your opponents, which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too from God." Philippians 1:27b-28

we all need to:
"work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."
Philippians 2:12b-13

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit-
Redeemed (by the blood of the Lamb)

Great question! Although I believe most on here are so enslaved to their own pride they would never give salvation a rational thought. It's way too easy to ignore it and live the lie they have bought into and will do anything to preserve it. The Lord wishes that no one would perish and all receive eternal life but so many refuse him and instead make themselves their god and sadly will reap the consequences.

Prove it.

Why should we accept your religion, with no evidence whatsoever? Why shouldn't you convert to a random religion that isn't torture-based, or better yet, forget religion altogether?

You're basically posing pascal's wager. OK, here goes again:

Pascal's wager:

"If god exists, it's infinitely better to believe, since you get heaven instead of hell for eternity. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter since you're dead anyway. So overall it's better to believe"

This is, of course, false.

Some of the problems with the argument:

* The implied assumption that god may exist (with a 50% probability, no less!)

* The assumption that there is an afterlife with a heaven and hell

* The assumption that the god cares about belief in him/her above all else

* The assumption that if you believe in a god, it will definitely be the same god that actually exists.

* The assumption that you lose nothing if it's false. You have lost a great deal, from time praying to a nonexistent entity (somebody mentioned just today praying several hours a day!!!) to morality (your god may ask you to hurt other people) and much more besides.

* The assumption that people can believe in something simply because it benefits them. Would you believe goblins exist for twenty bucks? Why not?

* The assumption that any god won't see through the "believing just to get into heaven" ploy.

I believe God is the father and Jesus died on the cross to save the world from eternal death. Everybody that reads that will either move on to the next question, or put down God. It's very sad, I know. There's gonna be alot of disappointed people who wake up in hell

As you describe it, life IS a video game, just with no Save function. God and Satan are the players and we are the pawns. Mario may get the princess but only as the game ends, then he is obliterated all the same.

I don't pretend to have all the answers but the divine answers you allude to don't seem to have any relevance to the world I find myself in. At least God hasn't seen fit to share them with anyone.

If God and Satan are gaming for my soul, what good is that to me? My choice is to end up in a nice toybox or a nasty toybox. Either way, the players act pretty childishly.

If you believe so much in your salvation, have you considered that you may be praying to the wrong god? Imagine what will happen after you die, and find out that you have been believing in the incorrect deity!

You better study up to make sure you are making the right choice.

Yes, I already see the seriousness and gravity of the need.
As G.K. Chesterton said, "The tragedy of disbelieving in God, is not that a person ends up believing in nothing, alas it is much worse, that person may end up believing anything."

"There are 2kinds of ppl in this world, those who bend their knee to God and say "Your will be done" or those that refuse to bend thier knee to God, to which God says, "Alright, your will be done"

Do you understand that I find your concept of right, wrong, salvation, hell, and God absolutely offensive, insane, dangerous, and evil? Even assuming you were correct...and the God you believe exists....why would I WANT to be anywhere near him? He sounds like a megalomaniac who has far more characteristics of what is generally called evil then good. Any God who punishes someone to eternal torment because they don't believe something that he didn't prove is an insane, evil God. Your belief is insane, evil, and offensive. I would not let you anywhere near my children. You are a sick person. The God that you woprship is sick.

I need no salvation! Neither your God nor your devil can lay claim to my soul, I am pledged to the Aesir and Vanir. When I die, I can only hope it is with honor that I may go to feast with my ancestors and the Gods in Valhalla.
