my dog is a chow lab mix. i like to say she is a chowbador. she is a great dog. she just got fixed the other day and she is recovering very well. she takes her pain meds right out of your hand. no tricking her. i was just wondering if anyone had a "chowbador" and if theirs was as good as mine is.

my dog is very spoiled. i treat her like a human. she is my daughter. she looks like a fury lab. her nose isnt quite as long as a labs though. but she is definitely protective just like the chow. she is really good with my kids though. we have had her since she was 6 weeks old. she will be 5 in august. have to plan a special birthday party for her.

I work with a spay/ neuter organization and we get chow lab mixes in. They are like "Wooly Bears". I call them "Goofy Labs" because most of the ones I meet have the goofy lab persona but the protectiveness of a Chow.

I wish I still had the pics up and I'd send you a link. One of our members rescued a Chowbrador last year and we had to emergency groom, spay, and do other services on this dog because she was sick and had an infected uterus.

Now she is spoiled, living with a family that loves her, and is a prissy thing.

Your dog sounds adorable. I have seen a couple with the animal rescue organization we volunteer with. They have always been very sweet and trusting, and thats not always easy with what some of them have been through. Also, they were easy to place; families with kids loved them. One time we had 3 puppies; one male, two females. The male had fur/tail like a chow, but had blackish color like a Black Lab; the girls had more Lab hair and a Reddish color like in some chows. They all three had the chow tail! Currently, we are fostering a Chow-Akita mix and he is very sweet but HIGH energy. He is a reddish color with 4 white feet, and white chest. He is a doll.

no but i do own a chow. purebred, she is my baby. and when we give her meds we have to trick her cuz if she sees it she will not eat it. and im so happy that we have her. some people had found her in the woods and she had 21 ticks on her and oil. and then the people that had found her brought her to the vets and they cleaned her up. and then the peopel brought her back home and put her in a cage outside and it said for free on it. and my nana was driving by and asked if we could have the dog. and she brought her home i was so happy. this was when she was 1 1/2 and now shes 7 1/2. this was when i was about 10. and now im 16.

I used to have one, she was fantastic, a real sweetheart. Unfortunately, my ex got her in the divorce and his new wife kept her out in the yard. She got unused to being around other animals, started killing cats that went into the yard, and they put her to sleep. If they'd kept her in the house with other animals like she'd always been, she'd have been fine. What jerks. :(
