Although I consume meat, it is much more efficient for people to produce plant products. Pigs damage and pollute the environment by digging up everything and pollution with their waste. Where pigs are produced, cause air pollution too. Cattle use an excessive amount of land that could be put to good use for other things and they consume plants as well. We need the vitamin B from meat products though.

First, I will answer your question in abstract: if you look at a carnivore (e.g., a lion), they feast on meat, then they require some hours of rest to digest the food. However, the digestion of a carnivore, which only takes hours, is not very efficient. A plant-eater, on the other hand, will eat and digest through a longer period of time, several days, but most of the food will be converted to energy.

However, it's time to go back to school: human beings are omnivores, thus we are not specialized in digesting particular kinds of foods, like other animals. You shouldn't have to choose, but rather, you should eat in a balanced way

Efficient to make you mean? Plants. Cows take up a lot more room and resources to raise then fruits and veggies.

Plants. The human intestines are too long to consume meat that has not been cooked on a regular basis.
