This book is probably the most informative and practical guide on the subject of acid reflux and heartburn that I have ever read https://tr.im/acidrefluxguide
I was prescribed Lansoprazole which was brilliant but after two years of aching joints, extreme muscle pain which the doc gave me cortisone jags for, with some research I discovered the drug Lansoprazole was causing these rare side effects but it was I who diagnosed it NOT my doctor, I came off the drug 2 months ago, changed my diet and discovered just eating an apple stops any acid reflux, I eat an apple before bed, brilliant no acid, any time I feel the slightest sign of reflux I simply eat an apple. Apple juice is not that good nor is anything else I have tried including honey at stopping reflux.

i would get really bad heart burn and go to the emergency room sometimes. i went to see a specialist because i thought i had gred. the doctor sent a scope down my throat and looked into my stomach and i didn't have any signs of gerd or tearing or any thing. i had instead some type of nerve disorder. the doctor said this is very common and most of his patient have this. some of the symptoms are head aches, trouble sleeping, fatigue(not every day even). before i went and seen him it got to the point where anything i ate gave me heartburn. he gave me medicine and it has seemed to work. so you might want to go see a specialist. don't take tums it only makes it worse.

You have reflux and I have it too my doctor prescribed me an antacid pill but you have to take it everyday. I take mine twice a day and I am fine.
Nothing over the counter has ever worked as good as my doctor's prescription. But you could try Malox.
Good Luck
