Did you know you're only 25 minutes from Disneyland? Even if you don't want to go into the park, you can visit Downtown Disney for free. And the Block at Orange is a fun place to check out as well.

Closer to SD, there's Bonelli Regional Park and Puddingstone Reservoir. Even a walk around the lake could be better than being stuck with the in-laws.

It's still a little cold, but if the weather warms up, there's Raging Waters.

Fairplex: Check out www.fairplex.com to see what's happening at the Fairgrounds. There's something nearly every weekend.

Good luck.

Two words: Theater District. San Francisco's live theater can be surprisingly affordable. In addition to some great little independent playhouses with very reasonable ticket prices, you can also go to the ticket booth in Union Square, which sells half price tickets to any show that is not sold out for that evening. Actors' Theater is currently running David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross, for example. It IS possible to get a nice romantic little dinner near the Theater District without spending an arm and a leg. Some good options are: Cafe Claude (Parisian bistro with live jazz), L'Ottavo Ristorante on Sutter, or the delightful Millenium if you don't mind walking a few extra blocks. And then there is all the hubbub of Union Square to stroll through - book stores, galleries, etc. Enjoy!

Raging Waters is right there. You could check that out. If you want to see some drag races, drift races, and any other kind of race, you can drive down the road to the Irwindale race track.

Well contrary to what my buds tell me---IMHO, there isn't a whole lot to do in this part of the friggin mythical "INLAND EMPIRE". I suggest you get i your car and head into L.A. (West Hollywood). You will find plenty to do and keep you busy........
