Well, it depends on what route you're taking and how much time you have. If you don't mind taking a little longer, you should really consider checking out Savannah (GA), Charleston (SC), the Outerbanks of NC, and Annapolis (MD). If you're doing a more "inland" route, then definitely check out the Blue Ridge Mountains in NC, as well as nearby Asheville (NC). The upstate of SC (Greenville and the mountains to the north) is also beautiful. Charlottesville, VA would make a nice stop and is also close to the Blue Ridge Mountains (and Skyline Drive, as someone mentioned in a previous posting). I agree about New Jersey, by the way! ;-)

I think most of it is probably pretty cool.
I guess it depends upon what "cool" means to you.
Myself, I would definitely stop in Nashville, and I'm not some good old country boy. I think too you might want to check out the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah Mtns.
(But the answer about "You are now leaving New Jersey" really cracked me up.)

In Virginia... visit Lurray Caverns
In Tenn... Visit Pigeon Forge (Dollywood)
In Georgia... nothing but a truck stop there...keep on going !
In Mississippi... visit historic Jackson

Tennessee (The whole state) is gorgeous..
Stop in Memphis and see Graceland..
and stop in Nashville and tour the Grand Old Opry and the Opryland Hotel.
