Did you know that over half of the world's fur industry is produced by China. They are killing dogs and cats every year for their fur. Will anyone join me to write a letter to the Chinese consulates on Feb. 13th (Chinese New Year) to protest to this horrific act? Please be polite and respectful in your communications with Consulate staff.

I rather become a vegan and wear faux fur then eat dog meat or wear it.

I'm a dog lover, future veterinarian and vegetarian, but I'm with Caninelegion on this one. I hate the fact that they kill dogs and cats for fur, but these animals don't have the same familial significance that they do in the United States. Killing dogs in China is culturally different than killing dogs in America. I would compare this to the different perception of cow-slaughter in the United States and India. In our culture, it's no big deal, but to India it may be seen as a "horrific act". So my opinion is that it's not really fair to attack China about this, unless you would simultaneously attack all cultures (including our own) for every type of fur harvesting.

I understand what you are saying but you are talking about a country that doesn't even respect or threat it's workers with decency or fair work conditions (how do you think they can produce and take over the world market like they have so far)
they are not going to take notice of petitions against animal cruelty when they are harvesting political prisoners for body parts (they are prisoners because of their spiritual beliefs) bulldoze christian churches into the ground while the police are throwing big dangerous little old grandmothers around.
This country has more issues to be dealt with than just animal cruelty.

There wouldn't BE an industry if people weren't BUYING...look at the celebrities who wear fur...the Chinese are just responding to a demand. You should also be writing to those movie and music stars that walk around in animal carcasses.

News flash! No one skins an animal alive unless they are paid to because it is a much harder job than killing the animal first. It is much harder to do and it makes no sense. PETA and HSUS and other Vegan sub organizations paid people to do that so that they could have some alarming videos. It was cruel of the Animal Rights people to stage the tapes to begin with. No one would ever skin an animal alive unless they were paid extra to do it because it is much harder to do. That is only done for the cameras and the cruelest person involved is the camera man and the narrator who paid for it. Want something to get upset about try the link bellow

You won't like this answer but, sorry, it's not cruel in China. No culture should force their ideals and beliefs on another. If you want to protest this, just don't buy the furs and try to convince others to do the same. If there is no market, there will be no fur farms.

The Chinese have been eating dog and cat meat for years. It's part of their culture. Who are we to tell them they are wrong? I don't agree with it and would never do it myself but they don't see it the same. Dog and cat meat is a staple for a lot of Chinese communities because they have no other high protein meats to eat. I would rather a dog or cat be eaten for meat than to see people starve.

I'm with you! Killing dogs for fur and meat is wrong! Yes, I know it's a fur company but eating Fido isn't any better! YOU CAN COUNT ME IN!
