prisoners get cable tv for free, but lads in iraq or other placeses have to pay for it, that makes me sick

Wow, some really bad answers on this one......I don't think prisoners should be allowed to have tvs, weight rooms, or anything other than the necessities of life. Prison should be a place they don't want to go, not a private retreat like many are today. And to the person who said "the prisoners are there without choice...you are", that is the stupidest thing I have heard this year. The prisoners are there because they broke the law and are 'paying' for it, the troops in Iraq are sent over there by orders, they don't choose to go. They know there is a good chance that they might go by signing up for the army, but to compare their plight to the conditions of prisoners is BS.....too bad you couldn't go live in Iraq for a year, you would figure that out really fast.

Cuz some liberals voted against death penalty. Life sucks doesn't it? I, personally vote for the soldiers. They have an estimated short life, they're disciplined, they get the crappy treatment. Life's not fair. Somebody please hang the sex offenders, that or send them to the gallows! They call it correction facility where they put them, but they can never be corrected. It's not labeled to be a 'disease' so the poor 'darlings' get the better treatment. I think it's wrong, way wrong! What about their victims? Nobody cares for the victim! Dang, there's something wrong with the people who make laws, screw the politicians!
Popeye, I am moving to Texas! They got cable TV in Washington prisons! And I know that because I read in the paper something similar to this question.

Good question.
Our forces do get treated badly. They dont get anywhere near enough respect for the job they do and unfortunatly its the extremists that root to portray our forces as a waste of space and the same extremists fight to give sex offenders better treatment in prisons and scream out the human right acts left right and centre.
Perhaps those extremists can visit my website and see the damage abusers do and i resent sex offenders getting a life of luxery in prison. They do not get beaten because they end up in wings with other sex offenders like themselves where they probably all sit and compare notes on their conquests of damage and work out where to meet up when they get out of prison so they can go onto to damage many more childrens lives.
Sex offenders should automatically be sent to the front line of war without protection and a tatoo on their heads saying "we abuse children, protect a child today and take me down"
They should not have any rights at all and they do not deserve any forgiveness.
Perhaps there needs to be a petition requesting sex offenders are sent to war zones.

The world is up it's own A*s, Prisoners should be treated as the Scum they are Simple do the crime SUFFER the time....
Blame the Politically Correct brigade for the way or troops are persecuted for doing their job...
Why any body would want to join a Army were you are more scarred of who's watching than doing your job must be off their heads..

Prisoners don't deserve anything. They are horrible people and should not be getting free cable tv. I don't even think they deserve 3 meals a day.

At least in the UK prisoners don't get free TV. They pay for it out of their "earnings" - as little as £10 per week for doing completely non rehabilitative work (industrial type laundry work for example). I understand that the current rate is £1 per week - 10% of the "wage". And they don't get cable, just the standard channels.

Soldiers usually do have free television available to them although it may be in a req area rather than in a private room. As for someone else saying that the soldiers chose to be there and the prisoners did not, that is bull. If you choose to commit crimes, you have chosen to follow the path to jail. Why tax payers have to pay for television in jails I'll never know.

My husband is in the army and due to be deployed to Basra for a 6 month tour. Hes going out there...and i will be here waiting for him to come home safe..We have 3 kids and baby due 2 months before he leaves. Sex offenders should be sent out there so my husband can shoot them dead. He would not miss thats for sure. Sex offenders should be man raped every day until his life is messed up....like they do to their victims.
