Brown Short Mop Top. That's all you'll have time for.

Edit: Ignore Terri (Below). Obviously she never served, because female troops have more discretion, even at basic training, on their personal hair styles. A short hairstyle will be much easier to maintain & keep clean, but you do get to choose the overall length and general style.

guys have it so easy going in all they do is shave us near bald.... women must have theirs conform to the regulations out lined in AR 670-1 the wear and apperance of the military uniform. personally if you want something that is no fuss no muss meaning no tying in a bun, no wrapping, and not having to worry about weather or not the hair tie you use matches your hair color go for a shorter sporty cut. You need not nessicerily get the "bull dyke" high and tight just some thing that is off the collar, a good way to tell is to wear a collared dress shirt with a "normal" collar on it and make sure your hair does not touch or extend past it.
heres is a protion of AR 670-1 just in case

Females will ensure their hair is neatly groomed, that the length and bulk of the hair are not excessive, and that
the hair does not present a ragged, unkempt, or extreme appearance. Likewise, trendy styles that result in shaved
portions of the scalp (other than the neckline) or designs cut into the hair are prohibited. Females may wear braids and
cornrows as long as the braided style is conservative, the braids and cornrows lie snugly on the head, and any hairholding
devices comply with the standards in 1–8a(3)(d) below. Dreadlocks (unkempt, twisted, matted individual parts
of hair) are prohibited in uniform or in civilian clothes on duty. Hair will not fall over the eyebrows or extend below
the bottom edge of the collar at any time during normal activity or when standing in formation. Long hair that falls
naturally below the bottom edge of the collar, to include braids, will be neatly and inconspicuously fastened or pinned,
so no free-hanging hair is visible. This includes styles worn with the physical fitness uniform/improved physical fitness
uniform

this is only a portion of what it outlines but it basicaly states what i just said.
luck.

You need more than that! If basic training still includes gas mask training, you will be walked into a room thick with military tear gas. Believe me, you don't want that mask to leak. Get as short a haircut as you can tolerate. It will grow out again after basic training. Oh! you must walk out of the room full of gas without your mask on so hold your breath. The whole thing isn't bad unless you have a leaky mask and have to breathe the stuff while in the room. When in the field, choose a tent site upwind and on the highest ground you can find. They like to gas you in the middle of the night. The gas mostly settles low to the ground. With the right tent location you can sleep right through it.
This is assuming basic training is still the same as it was when I was in the army.

As short as possible.

During the field portion of basic training, long hair will just get in the way. And when you hit the gas hut and get to deal with copious amounts of CS gas, you will have to go in there unmasked at least once.

Now, I don't know which military you're going into, but the Canadian Forces use a lotion-type decontamination agent, and it gets stuck in hair something fierce. That, and if you don't use it properly, there will be a good deal of tear gas stuck in your hair as well. Trust me, I've been there. Damage Control School was not gentle in their use of tear gas, and my barber later that day hated my guts.

So really, when I went through, a lot of the women got the same buzz cut as the guys. Keeps things very easy maintenance. And as it has been said, it will grow back up eventually.

Just my thoughts.

Okay after looking at your choice. Consider I'm not a Drill SGT just a regular SSG who did inspect none of those hair cuts would even pass my inspection. The way they ae currently worn.
For Basic you need to go shorter then once your done you can grow it out some. Really you need to get a really short female hair cut. You have time showers, time putting on gas mask, you will be happy to have short hair.
Remember If it wouldn't pass my inspect it wouldn't pass a drill sgt.
1) No Bangs at all
2) Have to have a good fit on that gas mask very important
3) You aren't going to have time to dry anything probably not enough yourself.

Just tuff out a short cut, get it done before you go I can quarantee you will be happier

the shorter the better! I got yelled at in basic because i couldn't get it to stay in a pony tail. The last 2 weeks of training the allowed a current few to go get their hair cut....

Go with the bull dike high and tight dew. It's low maintenance and is easy to take care of. Just don't get upset when people look at you funny with that (I wonder look) in their eye's. LOL Seriously though, I can't answer, they just shaved mine off.

Womens hair in the military has to be a regulation length. It can't extend below your collar and it has to be a natural color. Also if your hair is longer than the collar than you have to put it in a bun.
