it was a good race. and i was impressed that after elliott sadler wrecked (because jr got into him) he didn't throw a fit, but joked around with jr about it. i bet he does awesome in his new ride this year.

My thoughts on the last straightaway wreck are that Jr ends up apologizing too much. His fans always say "he owned up to it", like that's supposed to make everything alright. Well at some point you need to learn from your mistakes and quit making them over and over. He does have some driving ability but what was he thinking? It was a non points race and he had no chance of winning. Even Sadler, who he was supposedly trying to help by bump drafting in the corner, had absolutely no chance at catching Tony. I'm not a Jr hater but I'm just trying to understand why people make excuses for him all the time and why it's OK for him to do these types of things and absolve himself with a "I screwed up, it's my fault". Whoever said "no harm no foul" doesn't have to pay for what it will take in parts and time to fix all those cars that got tore up.

Sure, of course a good race has a wreck, but I don't really like it as much when it's like on the final lap.
I wonder how Evernham feels about both of his cars wrecking that time? Must be frustrating for him.
Everyone was fine, and all the cars involved slid across the finish line anyways, so they all finished the race, and somehow that makes me a bit more happy.

I agree I thought it was cool. I am glad that no one got hurt also. Just typical plate racing. By the way Elliott Sadler laughed this time with junior but if boy blunder does it in a points race the mood will be different BIG TIME! Didn't anyone tell junior it wasn't a points race? Why would he pull a rookie move like that with the finish line less than a half a lap away? He wrecked alot of good cars tonight being an idiot. No wonder DEI doesn't give him more.

Junior is a fine driver, but he tends to get in a hurry sometimes, and that seems to affect his judgment. In this case, he wanted to do a last-minute bump-draft, but he hit Sadler too early, before the cars were off the corner, and caused a wreck. Had he planned better he could have made the move earlier, or, better yet, just accpted the fact that it was too late in the race to pull off the kind of come-from-behind win he wanted. This is a fairly common occurance with him. If he'd just relax, he'd win more races, and finish higher when he doesn't win.

Wrecks are not "sweet." People get injured and killed in them.

The race was great and I thought it made it even better when Jr. took out half the guys around him trying to bump draft Elliot Sadler. I was really impressed with the rookie David Gilliland though

Jr. admitted fault, which was cool of him. I am pretty imprressed with that 2nd place rookie, though. He has a great ride, and an even better crew chief in Parrot. He is gonna do well.
