You won't feel blood vessels growing into your eyes. Trust me, I have them. Not only do you deprive your eyes of oxygen by doing this, but the dry contacts irritate your eyes even more. Quit being lazy and take them out at least an hour before bed and give your eyes a breather.

It's really not a good idea. . .but if you do, take them out as soon as possible and wear your glasses for a day. Let your eyes rest, heal, and get some real oxygen! I had a friend who slept in her contacts (off and on) for years & now her eyes are so damaged that she can't wear contacts at all or they really irratate & dry out her eyes. Supposedly when you wear conatcts for over extended periods of time it thins out the top layer of your eyes and then the eye becomes a lot more sensitive and your vision may worsen.

I have slept in my contacts for years and my eye doctor knows it but isn't real happy about it. He said it can cause eye ulcers and those are no fun. I have never had one so I just keep sleeping in my contacts. Mine are extended wear contacts so that helps with the dryness and I leave them in my eyes for months at a time. Sometimes when I do take them out, the air really starts to bother them because they aren't use to it and I just put them back in quickly. Hope this helps.

Your cornea will be literally suffocated which can result in no, mild or extreme pain for you. The swelling cause by the suffocation leaves no permanent damage but can lead to swelling of the eye and an unpredictable level of pain although temporary can be very inconvenient.

dude,

I did the same thing for a long time thinking i could just sleep in them and it was all cool....then i woke up one day took them out and i couldnt look at anything bright (i.e. Tv,computer, going outside)my eyes would just burn and water up.Take them out, you can seriously destroy your eyes by leaving them in for a long time.

dont, the contacts will eventually dry out from lack of tears and stick to your eye, very hard to get out, they also get verry blurry and hot, and it ruins the contacts and your eyes

depends if your contacts are soft or hard. soft contacts are more porous and let your eyes breathe. it's ok to sleep with them once or twice. just don't make a habit of it.
