What do you mean by fraudulent? Do you mean that the check bounced or that is was not an actual check. If it was not an actual check go and talk to the insurance company and find out if they sent it to you. If it bounced, you need to contact them immediately. If they tell you that it did bounce, ask for a cashiers check or money order and then get a different insurance company ASAP.

Take a copy of the cheque(if possible) or copy of the statement record(indicating bounced cheque) and write to the Auto Insurance Company asking for reissue of the amount. You can also approach them personally if the office is near your place.

Give them two reminders in writing akeep copy of same.If there is no action from their end lodge a complain at the local police station.

I think you will get your due payment.

wow, that sucks.
more information.
Can the insurance company reissue the check
did you call them and see if they are the ones that actually sent it
did this deposit cause your account to be overdrawn.
If so, take them to small claims court.
I would also look for a new insurance carrier.

Contact your insurance company right away. Make them pay you all charges you have incurred for this inconvenience. and request a cashiers check
