I will take a few dramatic details from nature that today's science has not yet explained and invoke imagination to A) explain it and B) use it as a rationale to guide behavior.

Will people start wars over it? Will legal codes be based on it?

They may. Look at The Branch Dividian, David Koresh thing in Waco, they are now back. They however no longer believe in the gun thing they still believe he was a prophet. In a hundred years it could feasibly be as popular as Mormonism. That guy and his brother who created that religion were killed by an angry mob in the early 1800's. And now we have Mitt Romney who may be the first Mormon Prez.
