I am allergic to eggs so I don't smash them anywhere. Grits are better with melted cheese and butter anyway so even if I ate them I would not put them in my grits. That makes it a double NO.

No, but I smash them up in my rice, hash browns or cottage cheese.
I would smash them up in the grits, too, if I made grits.
