Not knowing your age, I'm not going to go into details. However, no, it should not hurt for girls.
If the guy has a clue, takes his time and is reasonably gentle it's not going to hurt at all.
If you really feel you need to know 'how', ask your parents or your doctor - It would be inappropriate for other people to answer that question to a minor.
If you really, really, really are going to take this jump - and remember, you only get ONE first time (and you can definitely get pregnant or get a disease your first time - and guys DO lie about whether they've been with anyone or not). DO talk with your folks if you're under 18 and get their advice and opinions. They love you, care about you, and would probably respect you more for talking with them about your choice, despite what you no doubt think.

EDIT: I know quite a bit about it, Cupcake. I've had the honor of being a lady's first, several times.
2nd EDIT: No, not pulling my chain, physical evidence of virginity, several discussions on the topic - no pain. The pain comes from tearing the hymen (which can be thick or thin or not present at all) and if done properly and over time doesn't hurt. OR from too-rapid stretching of the walls - OR from lack of lubrication. ALL of these are easily dealt with through knowledge, technique, and patience. An over-anxious over-excited or inexperienced male is surely going to make it hurt.

actually cupcake is right, if the girl is really a virgin, it will hurt to some degree if not ALOT. otherwise orion, i think those girls were pulling your chain about being virgins and it not hurting.
