Okay that is just ignorant. But of course the old "Religion is the root of all evil" thing again. Sure Religion causes violence, war, and death. So do different nationalities, money, resources, nature, and even sometimes rulers fought over women (Trojan War). Okay, if you uproot religion the world isn't gonna suddenly be all peace and sunshine. Religions help too, even if you don't believe in salvation. Ever heard of Mother Theresa? What about Alfred Nobel, Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King Jr., and Buddha? Other very religious people who made a difference in everything we do and live like now.

For that to be totally fair, then as stated by another, atheism has to go, just as witchcraft and all others related to it, as would humanism.
Actually, I think "religion", that is the effort that man makes to prove just how good he is, and thus deserves eternal blissful reward should be done away with. It is a false panacea. True Faith, on the other hand, what the Bible has to say about God and His desire to have a personal relationship with man should be taught as it once was in the schools.
Let's not blame God for the mistakes that His creation has made. It wasn't His fault that man has done things that if they had truly known the Bible would have never bothered with.

If public schools were actually free from religion, then yes. Kids should be taught only actual facts in school, and their parents can choose to teach them religion or not. Schools should teach tolerance and acceptance free from religion. However, we still have schools in this country that have the 10 commandments displayed for all to see, not to mention that every morning children are required to stand and say the pledge of allegiance to this country under god.

Yes, let's educate our children in everything except what other people believe. Their lack of experience with religion will surely make them more tolerant and understanding of different people and ideas.

Public education has been seperated from religion.

Your point? Just because there are Christian schools does not mean "you" have to attend.

An example:

I don't like hockey. Let's rid society of it just because I don't like it.

That kind of thinking will get you no-where.

Well, that will be the exact doctrine of the Antichrist when he arrives. Looks like you are doing some good works for him.
Good luck with that.

OK... but you can't teach the religion of Atheism either... if you do away with all religions you must do away with Atheism also.
