White hair will come from a lack of some mineral I forgot the name of, age, and genetic inheritances. I don't know if stress actually causes it, but it will cause it to come prematurely sometimes. Look at all the presidents lately...none of them came in with white hair, but they all leave with it! :)

Some people get it from stress, many from heredity though. Also, there is a nutritional component too, a lack of something in the diet.

Well, I'm not a Dr., but my best friend's hair turned white (although not totally) right after her young son was hit by a car.

I have a white swoop thing going on. My sister has it on the opposite side as me. Our mother has it as well. So genetics does have something to do with it.

No, it is genetic. You inherit that trait either from parents or more likely grandparents. Many people gray prematurely. My mom had a white streak at age 30. No one else has it yet. lol
