Not wise, for one thing it's illegal and your cousin could get his license taken away for it, and why do something that you have to hide for two years? Wait until you are old enough to do it on your own. By then it will mean more to you. Plus, the larger a tattoo is the harder it is to hide, if it's going down your forearm you will have to wear long sleeve shirts all the time and the summers would be horrible for you. Don't put your cousins shop at risk for doing something illegal. You have to be 18 to legally get a tattoo now. Sorry ... wait and make it worth it more.

wow. where to start. first of all, you need a parents consent under the age of 18...any shop that is willing to tattoo you without parental consent is not even worth your time or money. Also, youre only 15, getting a tattoo that young is a really risky move. I got my first tattoo for my 15th birthday and am getting my third tattoo for my 17th bday next month. I found out the hard way (ugly raised tattoo) that if a shop is willing to tattoo you at the age of 15 (even WITH parental consent) it is not a good shop. I wanted another when I was 15 because they are addicting but every tattoo shop I could find told me no way. Fortunately I found Flesh F/X and my current tattoo artist who convinced me to wait until I was at least 16 to get inked again, we are currently toying around with ideas to fix/cover up my hideous first tattoo. So my wholehearted and sincere advice would be to wait until you are older. I may only be 2 years older than you, but I have tattoos and I know what it is like to get a shitty tattoo.

My answer is more for some of the other people that answered this question. There are shops out there that are good clean shops that it is not illegal to tattoo someone under the age of 18 with parental consent. Also, in today's society some kids are forced to grow up fast, mature quicker than others. My step son will be 15 on Feb 29th, he is more mature now than most 20yr olds. He has wanted a tattoo of a cross for two yrs now, since he was saved and baptized, to symbolize his faith in Jesus. He's not asking for a tattoo of Eminem, hes asking for a cross! We have decided to let him get it. And it will be done by a professional.

think again. hiding things is very hard. especially if you get something tattooed down your ARM!!! unless you live in... alaska and wear long sleeves year round or something. ALSO how are you planning on getting the tattoo? unless you know of a place that will tattoo someone underage, then you have to be 18. AND any place that is willing to tattoo someone underage would also probably be willing to not sanitize their equipment or use new needles or clean up their area before and after each client. if i were you i would wait. that way you have something to look forward to on your 18th birthday. i have and love tattoos but make it right. don't risk your health or a bad tattoo just so you can sneak a tattoo.

thats cool that pride is your last name, but I think you should keep it on the back of your sports jersey rather than down your arm. Pride is one of those powerful words that could easily be misread...kinda like those no fear stickers and gear (how dumb were they?!)
I'd recommend a piercing before an ink prodding any time....and the fact that you'd have to "hide your pride" should be a good indicator of how wise a choice this would be.
PS if Gods got any place in your life...He opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble... and last name or not, the general public would most likely read into the definition of pride being haughty and obnoxious...and apply that to who you are as an individual. just a thought

Sadly as annoying as parents may seem, they do things for reasons. And its not cos they're not just trying to bug you by saying no.
I've currently got 3 tattoos and also had a family member who was more then happy to ink me.
But luckily he was responcible enough to sit down, draw up my design and make me wait 18 months (till my 17th bday). On my bday I told him I still wanted the design and he made me describe it (without having looked at the design for over a year this was pretty hard) but I passed and we went through with it. To this day i still love all of my tattoos, however i think of all the designs we threw out the window and shudder.
In short.-work on your design, then leave it alone. If you still want it in a year or so go your heart out.
Also, one last piece of advise- dont get a family member to ink you- they worry about you when you're in pain (ive had to get the ones my uncle did, redone 4 times now to get them to a proper standard and he has an excellent hand.)
Good luck!

You probably will hate hearing this, but you should really wait until you're 18 to have this tattoo done. Not that I have much doubt that you'll still want it (because I don't know you and can't judge that) but no decent tattoo parlor is going to tattoo a minor without parental consent. Shops that are willing to tattoo a minor without any consent typically aren't good places, and I would wait until you're 18 so you can get a quality tattoo if you still feel that you want one at that time.

It's a bad idea, you'll regret it in a few years, and any tattoo parlor that's willing to tattoo you in spite of the fact that you're not 18 is not worth going too, and could be dangerous.

don't do it! you probably don't want to hear this but, you're too young!!! i was 17 when i got a tattoo and it was one of the biggest mistakes i have ever made. i am now 47. luckily i can hide mine by wearing a wristwatch over it. think about it. what's your hurry. you say you can hide it from your family but can you hide it if you get a job where you have to wear certain uniform or if you get married (at an older age). think ahead. does it have to be down your arm? in my opinion tattoos are personal. they should only be able to be seen by people we want to let see them....that's just my opinion. good luck in whatever decision you make.
