It's the large intestine. It begins at the junction of the jejunem, the last portion of the small intestine and the cecum, a pouch-like structure that is part of the colon. It consists of the ascending colon, which goes up the right side of the abdomen, the transverse colon, which goes across the abdomen, the descending colon, which goes down the left side of the abdomen and the sigmoid colon, an S-shaped portion of the colon which terminates in the rectum and anus. The other kinds of colon are a semi-colon ; and a full colon :.
FYI to all: The colon is not PART of the large intestine, it IS the large intestine.

In the anatomy of the digestive system, the colon (> Greek κῶλον) is the part of the large intestine between the cecum to the rectum. Its primary purpose is to extract water from faeces. In mammals, it consists of the ascending colon, transverse colon, the descending colon, and the sigmoid colon. The colon from cecum to the mid-transverse colon is also known as the right colon. The remainder is known as the left colon.

Your colon is part of your large intestine. You have a small intestine and a large intestine. The small intestine begins at the base of your stomach (duodenum) and ends at your large intestine. The large instestine continues to your rectum and anus. Nutrients from your food are absorbed in your intestines and distributed to the cells of your body. Waste is moved through your intestines and exits your body at your anus.
In writing, this is a colon: :
