Half the time and turn the oven down by 30 degrees.

Baking is the one part of cooking that requires precision and exact measurements. Same goes for baking time and temperature - yeah in a perfect world. If everyone's oven temperature was the same, humidity levels, blah blah blah.

Here's the deal - the smaller the baked item the shorter time it will take to cook. That's pretty much the rule. Mini-muffins can be 1/2 the size of a regular muffin or even smaller. Keep the oven temperature the same but check them after 10 minutes. If you pull them out and you see the batter is soft, put them back in. If not, try inserting a tooth-pick into the center of the muffin but not all the way down to the bottom. Pull it out, if it comes out clean they are done, if there is batter on the pick, put them back in the oven. Also, you can remove the muffins a couple minutes before they are done, that sometimes helps preserve moistness.

I usually lower the temperature by about 25 degrees. I would probably set the backing time at 15 minutes, but check on them with the oven light regularly, and test them about 10 minutes through. It's honestly not rocket science, and they're not nearly as sensitive as you might think, so long as you turn down the temperature and check on them regularly.

between 10 and 15 minutes will do it, but if you want to you can stick a tooth pick in the middle of a bigger one, and like a cake, see if it comes out clean after 10 minutes.

Why don't you follow the instructions in the recipe? Shurly you can read. If it says to bake for 15 to 20 min. then this is what you do. You can always check for doneness a few min. before time is up by sticking a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, they are done.
