You need to let your toddlers tummy rest. Give him/her clear fluids, avoid juices, pedialyte is a good choice. Sports drinks aren't made for little ones tummies. Once the diarriah stops slowly introduce a BRAT diet, bananas, rice applesauce and toast, if it's tolerated then add in other foods.
You can get anti-diarriah meds from the drug store, ask the pharmacist. But it's best to let things run their coarse.

Hey there! I am an emergency room RN, and I need to tell you, don't try to stop it! It is usually a virus or even a bacteria, and it needs to come out. Medications that are used for this often slow down the process and actually make your child sick longer. Force fluids, clear liquids are best, so they don't dehydrate. Have the child eat anything that he will eat. The more food in, the more he will get rid of the virus or bacteria. If you notice the childs eyes are sunken in, he becomes lethargic, cries without tears, or his mouth is dry...take him to the doctor. He might very well need iv rehydration. There are certain viruses, such as rotovirus, that can be very dangerous, and even deadly in the very young and very old.
Hope that helps!

Talk to your pediatrician. Sounds like they are cutting teeth, if there's no fever or other symptoms. Don't give any bananas, applesauce (or apple juice), these will only make it worse. Do give lots of water, pedialite, jello water (mix a tsp. of unsweetened jello in water). The doctor may recommend an otc med to stop it. Good luck!

Take him to a doctor, but in the meantime you can give him the BRAT diet, Bananas, Rice, Apples (applesauce is better) and toast. This firms up the stool.

don't try to stop the diarreah. your child's body needs to get rid of whatever is ailing it. my doctor told this to me. as long as your child stays hydrated and doesn't have a really high fever, they should be okay. if the diarreah lasts for a few days then i would speak to the doctor.
ahhh, the joys of parenthood!
