My boss Sam is married but pretty close friends with this younger girl (girl is around my age). Anyway ta few months back he told me "Tricia has been talking about you" and Tricia got embarrassed and covered her face.

I asked him later what he meant and he said "I was just trying to embarrass her". I dont know what that means do you?

Should I delve further? I like this girl, shes outgoing though and I'm a quiet guy. Should I ask him if this girl likes me? I'm considered good looking by my friends, but I'm not 100% sure what to do.

Should I ask my boss what the deal is?

No. If you want to know how the girl feels, ask the girl.

You should ask Tricia out if you like her and leave your boss out of it.

Women typically like men who know what they want and how to go about it. It's a bit of a turn off and unimpressive if she finds out that you were asking the boss about her.

DO NOT put your boss in the middle of this!

I would say that there's a good chance that the young lady said some nice things about you. But, if you're interested, you need to address it with her. Getting ANYONE else involved is sooooo high school. Getting your boss involved is unprofessional.

Try to get to know Tricia if you like her, forget the boss.

I would ask your boss about your personal life. Also, it is not clear as to if you work with Tricia, but don't date someone you work with.
If you are interested in her, ask her out yourself.

Your question seems misleading. You told that your boss is Sam and then you seem to be pertaining on asking anothe girl aside from Sam..Which is which??

I think that if you like her then you should find out from her, not your boss. Just ask her in a simple way, like if she has to read something important, slip a little piece of paper in it that says "date?" or find another cute way to ask her. [make sure she doesn't already have a boyfriend]

That wouldn't be ethical or professionally. But unless your boss is cool with talking about those type of things at work, then go ahead.

Don't be so high school. If you like the girl just ask her out. If she says yes then she likes you. If she says no what have you lost?
