I just asked about how I should get a girl to like me, and I was told to kinda get to know her a bit but not too much cuz then she will only think of me as her friend, but how much is too much????

Learn how to make small talk. Brush up on current events, and prepare a little back ground info on a variety of topics. It would help if you knew what her interests are as well. Try a little humour, that's always an attention grabber. Once you've been talking on a regular basis (just pointless chit chat, not conversations), try throwing in a small compliment now and then (those earrings look nice on you, what smells so good, I like your hair like that). Then try asking her for a coffee, or coke, or drink after work. Make it a group thing if it will make you more comfortable ( a woman likes to be able to view a man interacting with other people, lets her check out his personality).
Above all, relax. Don't push things, or think too much about what you are saying. That's where preparation comes in...nothing wrong with being prepared.

Dating is sort of a game, like it or not. Be her friend, get to know her and make her laugh. But so as not to let it settle into just friendship, remain a little mysterious. Make it clear that you have a life of your own and that your life does not revolve around her friendship. People are attracted to people with full lives - not someone that drops everything for them ALL the time. Later, after this has been established, ask her out. If the chemistry is there and she feels the same way, you will know.
