There are a lot of things to consider to give you an answer to that. Like what State do you live in, how old are you, how many times is it on your record etc....
Your best bet is to get legal advise, and get it from the horse's mouth.

Depends on the state you reside in and your age. In some states if a person of say 16 gets arrested for a petty larceny (shoplifting) it usually ends up as a YO (youthful Offender) and thus will not have a record.
