I don't really know what you're asking but when the female's body temp drops to 99 or below, labor will start within 24 hours.

General guidline: at 62 days post breeding, take the bitches temp. twice a day, at the same time, everyday using a rectal therm. The temp. will drop, and stay at or below 100 degress 24-48 hrs prior to whelping. You have to take the temp at the same time each day, as you will find in the morning it may be low, but back to normal in the evening. Normal temp for a dog is 101 plus or minus a full degree.

Dust bunny is correct. I want to stress that it needs to be done at the same time, under the same conditions, every day. If you take it each day at 8am, and one day she has been up walking around, the next she has been napping, the readings will be totally irrelevent.

Also, you need to start it several days before she is due, so you have a good baseline temp, some dogs have normal temps of 99 degrees.
