I believe it is!.

But it should NOT be taken literally word for word! It contradicts itself if you do that!

The Bible is all based on fact. People had intellect then as they do now. The first languages were as comprehensible then as language is now. God used some 40 human secretaries over a period of 16 centuries to record His written Word. The writers, otherwise known as copyists, were able to pen or carve Gods Word throughout the years so we would have the complete scriptures today (the number 1 best seller) in our many languages.

Sure it is. All the problems derive from false interpretations. The interps make Christianity look like a joke and spawn more atheists every day.

Christianity made sense until 325 AD when it was wed to the religion of Nimrod and the hybrid later became the Holy Roman Church which became the Catholic church which begat a slew of protestant churches that really didn't leave behind the corruption but just carried on without the living symbol of Nimrod/the Pope. The Pope and the Cardinals wear sex symbols from the religion of Nimrod on their vestures. Check out the link below.

If you don't have a historical perspective you will never get religion figured out. Also it helps to be of a pure heart, prejudice free. Otherwise you may deny the truth knocking at your door. Wouldn't want to do that now would you?

I seriously doubt it.

It completely debunks anything scientific, the people who wrote it all had their own personal (biased) perspectives on things, and personally I think it has taken the words of a man who probably spoke two thousand years ago a little too literally and turned it all into dogmatic law.

I am not a christian myself (haven't been for 14 years or so) so my opinion probably shouldn't count. I reckon that from a christians perspective the bible should be read metaphorically.

Also, there are almost identical teachings that date back thousands of years before Jesus. For example, the trinity of Horus, Isis and Osiris in ancient Egypt (circa 4800 BC).

Well, that's my opinion briefly but there is actually so much to say on this subject that I could probably devote an entire website to it.

Depends on who you ask of course. But the creation of the world story and the story about Noah and the Ark are almost identical to much older legends and stories from other peoples in the middle east, so many people assume they were simply adopted as the israelites' own history for some reason. There is some evidence a large flood in the region occurred in the far distant past--the Black Sea for instance apparently was below sea level, and the blockage at instanbul gave way and flooded it.

It is amazing to me how many people who are ignorant of the Bible claim that it is worth nothing, fairy tales, garbage, etc.

The Bible regardless of which belief you hold to is, by far, the most reliable document of antiquity having over 25,000 partial or whole manuscripts from which to refer to its authenticity. The earliest writing comes about 30 years after Jesus' death. (Contrast this to Homer's Iliad, in second place, which the earliest manuscripts we have of that is about 4,000 years after it was originally written and only a few handfuls of partial or whole manuscripts)

The Bible is historically, scientifically, and linguistically proven over and over again (including the Old Testament). There are a good number of people against the teachings of the Bible who understand the Bible's original languages. If some new revelation came out saying that a portion of a passage was translated wrong and really meant something else, it would be all over the news. However, that has not happened.

The Bible is an extremely reliable document and continues to prove itself over and over again. If you are really interested in discovering what history and science has to say about the Bible (and not just side-swiping opinions with nothing to back them up), read Josh McDowell's book: "Evidence That Demands a Verdict."

Personally, I think the Bible is the most important book ever written. It details the Creation, why evil is in the world, history of the world, and why we need to repent (because we have broken God's laws - a terrible offense to an infinite God*) and trust in Jesus Christ (who died to pay the penalty of the sins we have committed).

* Think of it this way:
If we kill a cockroach, there will be no repercussions.
If we kill a man on the street, we will likely go to prison for life.
[I am *NOT* advocating this...] If we plot (not even carrying it out) a plan to take the President's life, then we will be guilty of treason and likely face the death penalty.
If we kill the Son of God from the sin we have committed, we will incur the penalty (God's wrath in Hell) due to us.
-- It is not only the severity of the crime that we are punished for, but moreso to whom the crime was against. God is just, the punishment will fit the crime. Though, He is rich in mercy and His kindness leads us to repentance... but, we must repent. --

Let me know if you have any questions about Christianity.

i'm pretty sure. i'm 15 and don't go to church as much as i should, but i know that the bible is the word of God, recorded by actual people. the words in red are that spoken of Jesus Christ. what is predicted is actually real stories and prophecies from phrophets. for example, the bible said that when the world is coming to an end, you can't tell the seasons (weird weather), signs and rumors of was (iraq, africa, other issues), and mass natural disasters (landslides, tsunamis, tornados, and hurrincanes)

The bible will always be a fact to the people that believe in it, there will always be critics that will belittle it's contents, but dose that not go for just about everything in life today, people simply have to much time on their hands when it comes to criticism.

Most of them are written in a fable-ish form, but the idea, I would say is the same. The Bible is strictly related to your faith, though. It was written quite a long time ago and cannot be proved true or untrue.
