Ever sinve creation we have done so much wrong where global warming is concerned that it seems impossible to correct our mistakes. we know what the problem is but we don't know where to start to correct it. we would have to change peoples lifestyle which would be very hard.

Using the hard data provided by NCDC, namely the mean annual temperature for all the reporting stations in the U.S. I have come up with the following trend curves:
t is in years AD in all the equations.
T = 490.93*1.000022076^t - 459.69
T = 34.82*1.000213805^t
T = 52.37 + 0.002782(t - 1895) + 7.689E-05(t - 1895)^2
T = 52.87 - 0.436cos(2πt/61.33) - 0.428sin(2πt/61.33) - 0.143cos(2πt/36.11) + 0.164sin(2πt/36.11)
The Fourier series is very incomplete--I'm still looking for resonant frequencies (I know there's one with a period around 11 years, but haven't tied it down yet.)
The Rankin power function yields a 1.26°F increase in the 111 years recorded. The quadratic yields a 1.26°F increase as well. The Fourier, being incomplete, shows little. The data show such wild fluctuations that none of the curves can be called a good fit. From the looks of the data we are currently at a peak of a number of cycles. The 2006 average is 55.01°F, the highest recorded. (The 2nd highest was 54.94°F for 1998, followed by 54.91°F in 1934, the peak year of the Great Drought, a difference of 0.1°F.) The Western US has been experiencing drought conditions fo 8 years, but there are signs that the drought is abating.
Conclusion:
We are indeed in a period of global warming and it is evidently currently accelerating. If this accelerating trend continues unabated, the ice at the South Pole will begin to melt in 735 years (based on the quadratic and the highest temperature recorded at the South Pole).
The estimated 70 million tons of greenhouse gases might be responsible for the projected 67.9 ppm increase in CO2 levels in the atmosphere at Mauna Loa. I'm still looking into that.
Who is the we that is not taking action? I'm in the process of designing a solar water heater that can be built in the back yard by the average person for minimal expense.

We're not taking action because it would cost a ton of money to change our life styles so as to decrease global warming. I don't support this course of action, but there's only so much we can do about it. Also, we haven't figured out how to fix the damage we've already done.

Global warming is a purposeful misreading of existing data that ignores the cyclical action of weather over long periods.
the reason we're not doing anything is that once the scientists (so-called) have scared everyone, they have no serious proposals for changing anything because - aha - there is nothing to change.

yes it is happening,but don't say why aren't we taking action ask yourself why aren't i taking action and global warming happens when the ozone layer gets wider and more solar ray bounce off and get traped between the earth and the ozone layer
ps:watch the movie al gore made it's on dvd its all about global warming

It's all about the money, honey, and the rich oilholes who own the world aren't going to let us 'discover' a way out until they figure how to keep bilking us of our wealth, like now.

we are but not enough by far governments have downplayed it for years because it meant change and expense
here are some details and some solutions
Many people are positively active .but it is collective ly insignificant given the magnitude of the negative elements
in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification
in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat,usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification,the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days
in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert,the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else,and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)
,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.
collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like,over grazing and fertilizers,
as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious,rising seas result in landloss
each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss
more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,
and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing
RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.
Global warming is in theory reversable,but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,
At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.
SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions,and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials,aerosol cans,burning rubbish,industrial chimneys,powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways,urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires,such as--fire breaks
,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
recicling wastes,limit water use
