I already have a cold sore in each corner of my mouth

I should have put the question more clearly. I do not have genital herpes. I wanted to know if the cold sores on my mouth can be spread to say-my eyes if I rub them after touching the cold sore on my mouth.

I REALLY wanted you to know that you can EASILY never have to deal with another horrible, awful, nasty cold-sore for the rest of your life!!

I got them every winter my whole life until 3 years ago (I'm 36 now) and they were the BANE of my existence...the whole process took weeks to heal and would leave a scar for at least 2 months sometimes!

I was reading a message board on www.curezone.org and discovered the PERFECT remedy for both healing them and preventing them completely:
OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT

So, I buy the liquid tincture by "HerbPharm" and it has not failed me ONCE...Whenever I'm feeling drained, tired, stressed, or get that tingly feeling on my lip, I just load up on this stuff.

This is the one I buy:

You can also get Olive Leaf at Whole Foods Market, and other natural food stores.

Very cheap.

The first time I tried it, I was actually halfway into a major eruption and I drank a bunch of the extract in some water.
AS I WAS DRINKING the stuff down, I could feel the swelling on my lip shrinking...I was in such shock--I ran to the mirror--it was shrinking before my eyes and within ten minutes my lip had returned to NORMAL...I began kissing the bottle of Olive Leaf...yeah, I really did!!

I had tried everything in the past...I can't begin to tell you what I went through...and it's now been 3 YEARS since I've had one!!

I have been suffereing from cold sores for about 1 year now. I have tried EVERYTHING to prevent them. Just for you information the only thing that works for me is "L-Lysine." This is an amazing supplement for anyone with a cold sore. Take it right when you start to feel the tingle at about 3000mg per day till you no longer feel the tingle and your good to go.

To answer your question YES, YES, YES; colds sores, which is a herpes virus can spread to other places of the body including but not limited to the eye. Once in the eye the herpes virus can cause blindness.

If a person has an active cold sore on their lip the virus particles can be transferred to any part of the body that they kiss, including the mouth, face or the genitals.

Keeping this in mind, it is very important to avoid kissing and oral sex during an active bout of cold sores.

It should also be made aware that the virus is considered to be contagious from the very first sign of an outbreak (including the tingling, itching stage) until the area is completely healed again.

It is important to take precautions during an active cold sore outbreak to prevent the virus from spreading. Treatments such as Choraphor can help to shorten the duration of the outbreak dramatically.

Herpes and cold sores are most easily spread when a sore is present, but, the virus can also be spread at other times too. Some people notice itching, tingling or other sensations before they see anything on their skin.

These are called "Prodromal Symptoms" and they warn that the virus may be present on the skin. Herpes is most likely to be spread from the time these first symptoms are noticed until the area is completely healed and the skin looks normal again.

Contact with the infected area (including oral sex, kissing and touch) is very risky during this time.

It is also possible to transmit virus particles to another person through intermediate objects such as a drinking glass, eating utensil, lip stick, lip gloss, toothbrush, or even a face cloth.

One kind of complication involves spreading the virus particles from the location of an outbreak to other places on the body by touching the infection. The fingers, eyes, and other body areas can accidentally become infected in this way.

Preventing self-infection is simple. Do not touch the area during an outbreak. If you do, wash your hands as soon as possible with soap and warm water. This will help prevent the virus from spreading further.

It seems as though you already have the answer to your question, yes, but often YEAST causes similar sores/cracking in the corners of the mouth. If the sores DO tingle, disregard this, if not look for white patches just inside lips or in the mouth. This would indicate yeast. Yeast can also spread to the eyes.

Yes. Herpes of the genital area is the same bacteria that causes a cold sore. Cold sores are Herpes Simplex.

The answer is yes. Are you sure this is a cold sore if it is in the genital area. If you have a chancre in the genital area it is possible that you have herpes. (cold sores are herpes of a different breed) Herpes.........like any other disease can be transferred with blood and body fluid. If its moist...........its possible. You can also transfer this into your nose and mouth, and to sexual partners.

You can get cold sores on your mouth, nose, eyes, and genitals. They are really contagious, but easily treated. Ive found the best thing for them is Zovirax. If you have them on your genitals then go and see a doctor
