This is the answer I gave to another question, which went something like.."Non-believers what will you do when you finally come face to face with god?.. I think you will fall down crying and begging for forgiveness.." I think it is still an appropriate answer to your question so here it is.. (just so you know I am agnostic, I dont believe in god/s but I dont discount the possibility of the existence of god/s)
Well my view is... if there is a god and I eventually come face to face with him I will not fall down crying and begging for forgiveness. What I will do is ask 2 questions...
Are you really going to punish good moral, honest and loving people just because they could not believe in you without proof?
Also.. Is it true that you would let people like Adolf Hitler, etc into heaven as long as they believe in you and repent even though they committed atrocious acts in your name, and at the same time punish people who did only good in their life but didnt believe in you?
If the answer to either of these questions is "Yes" then I would turn by back on that kind of god still, and I would not regret it because I would rather suffer in hell than be in a heaven where goodness of intention and heart mean nothing and only worship gets you in no matter what kind of things you have done in your life.
If the answer to all questions was "No" then I would say well then that is the god I have hoped for instead of the god Christianity has touted for centuries. I am sorry I doubted you, but I will not ask for forgiveness because if you are that god then no forgiveness is necessary since you are all that is right and good and I have always believed in all that is right and good.

"God, do you exist?" Is what some people would ask.
I however, am smarter than that, for if i were to ask Him, he would have to exist in order for Him to answer, and so obviously the question would be void. My question would instead be:
"God, why have you let humanity become this way?"

Well, hypothetically, IF he is real, I would ask WHY he let so many children suffer when he could have used his enormous power to help them...abused children, murdered children, molested children, children with terminal illnesses...etc. And don't give me that *free will* garbage.

He does answer me. "The still small voice" is very real. You just have to be quiet and quit arguing with Him to hear it.
