I know people with the names of all of the other disciples except for Judas (well, excluding the band Judas Priest). Is this just coincidence and I'm the only person who doesn't know anybody that has the name, or do people not name their kids that because he was the man who betrayed Jesus?

No, I don't know anyone named Adolph either. But, if this is the case...why are kids still named Joseph? Was Joseph Stallin not an evil man?

Perhaps many people are superstitious about giving their child and name that has a very negative connotation. I don't know many who name their children after famous people with a bad reputation. Not too many Benedict Arnold's out there, or Osama Bin Laden or,....... I could go on and on.

No, do you know anyone named Adolph?

Actually Judas was trying to do a good thing and like the rest of the apostles, believed that Jesus was the redeeming Messiah. As it turned out Jesus was the suffering Messiah instead. So when the Romans came to get Jesus he didn't conquer them but went to the cross. His mission was complete.

The apostles admitted to making this mistake later on saying that they had thought Jesus to be the redeeming Messiah come to put down the Romans.

No, I don;t, but i think it odd that anybody would name their child as the one who betrayed jesus, so if you do meet someone named Judas, i will be quite surprised.
