Most bipolar people do not "do weird" things. This disorder is extremely difficult to explain to anyone who is not bipolar. Bipolar Disorder is manic/depressive. At times, a person may be on top of the world & then come crashing down into depression. It's like being on an emotional roller coaster. Medications are prescribed to even out the extreme mood highs & lows. There are varying degrees of this disorder. With medication & counseling, a person can be a productive & popular member of society. I believe many people will use the "Bipolar Route" to avoid assuming responsiblity for their actions. Most persons with this disorder do not announce it to the world due to the stigma of mental illness & also people become frighten of them. In order to love & live with anyone who is bipolar, one must research to understand the disorder.

we have are ups and downs, if we are on medication we act fine if not, sometimes really happy and like everything is awsome in the world, too happy I guess, and then there is the sad stage coming down depressed secluded nothing going right, plain misrable, however like I said with proper medication no problem works for me since 1990, the simptoms are different for eack bi polar person cause we all are individuals, for the most part what I said above is correct, and just so you are aware, bi polar is a salt Imbalance in the brain, this kind of salt controls mood swings depression in the brain if you dont have enough salt so to speak then you get the ups and downs so some people like me take medicine ( salt) and we are fine and the rest of the people, there bodies produce whatn they need for this salt to maintain there moods ups and downs, hope this helps.

Hey, I'm bipolar and I asked my husband this question. He says it's painful for him to see me when I'm depressed and there's never a dull moment.
