Your terms are wrong but it probably is a good comparision. Horse owners don't own the rider, they have them under contract only to ride for them. You can have a contract with a Nascar driver but you can't own them. Can you imagine your boss owning you because you work for him? Yikes.

The driver is an independent contractor to the team owner,th who intern pays the driver to drive the cars he owns.
Yes this could be simular as owning a horse and hiring a jocky.

i guess you could compare it to that. the owner owns the car, similar to the way a horse owner owns a horse, yes. and they hire the drivers to drive them, similar to the way horse owners would hire jockeys. car owners don't 'own' the drivers, just like a horse owner doesn't 'own' a jockey. but yes, good point, it is similar

not driver, but own all cars, and and they own the contract theat the driver signs so in a way they do own them.
