Officers don't have specific MOS's really...they have career fields, such as Artillery, Infantry, Signal, etc. Specific MOS's are for enlisted personnel, I.E. your individual job in the unit.

That depends on your education. The Marines are infantry first and everything else next. All Marines are trained in the art of combat. Then they are selected to work in different other mos jobs. Thats not so in the Army, Air Force and Navy.

From my understanding of ROTC, the top people in the class get to choose thier field, the rest get put in needs of the army. I do know that on the enlisted side we have a gaunteed MOS. Im not sure how the officer side works.

No you can not. When you go sign up for whatever
branch, they have you take a Test. Whatever you
scored on that test, depending on your score they
try too put you in an area that best fits you. I had a
friend that scored really really high and he pretty
much chose what he wanted to do. If there is an
opening too, I believe. As for me I scored pretty low.
so i was stuck on the option of being a Cook or
Pencil Pusher. lol.... I stuck with being a pencil
pusher. But either way I was still training like a
grunt. lol.... But it was the greatest experience of my
life though. So try to study hard and try to do really
well on the test so you can have a better option. Good
luck if you go towards that path. God Bless our Troops
and USA!!!! oh yeah...God Bless the Marine Corp!!!!

Ask your recruiter.

Ask also what the requirements and qualifications are for whatever MOS you want. If they promise you that training, you still have to meet the requirements involved - that may be physical, like weight or strength, or minimum education level, like high school or college degree, for example. Ask for lots of details - you won't regret it.
