We called it Steak Soup but here it is:
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
2 1/2 cups beef broth
1 small tomato diced
1 small carrot diced
1 small onion diced
1/4 cup diced celery
3/4 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic
1/2 pound ground beef
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
Melt butter in medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in flour. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly, remove from heat and stir in broth. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
Stir in tomato, carrot, onion, celery, kitchen bouquet and pepper. Heat to boiling, reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 20 to 30 minutes or until vegetables are almost tender. While vegetables are simmering, cook ground beef until brown and drain. Stir in frozen vegetables and beef. Bring to boil again and reduce heat to low again. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes.
