you must tell her, even if it hurts her feelings. I am sure she will appreciate the fact that you were honest and didn't try to hide it from her. Don't getr off on the wrong foot with a lie!

her? that implies you are a male...I've never heard of a guy with an engagement ring...that's different (typically guys just wear a wedding band)...sorry you lost it and yes, tell her...
