They must be under age 24 as of the end of the tax year to be claimed as a qualifying child.

If they are 24 or over, there is still a possibility that they can be claimed as a qualifying relative, if the parent has provided more than half of their support for the year. But if the student had over $3300 gross income for the year, they can't be claimed as a qualifying relative.

i think it is 24. if you have to pay tax i can suggest you with some sites wihich can file your tax online and make you get deductions.
