This size house is on the small side of a large house. A tiny house would be 900-1,100 or so. A small house would be 1,200 -2,000. Mid-size would be 2,000-3,000. Large would be around 3,000-5,000 or so and above that is just plain huge!

The only thing that really matters is not the size of the house but how it is divided up. Does your house have hundreds of little comparmentalized rooms or just a handful of large open ones? How many people are living in it? How do they get along? Even a mansion can feel like an airless closet when the people living in it can't stand each other...
I can't really decide whether your house is too big or too small unless I know more!
I can say that the house I'm living in now is too small; three people with 3,072 square feet of floor space and we have no space for all the stuff
we want.

The average in new construction is around 2600 ft, but the overall average home size of all homes, regardless of age, is around 1500 feet, so figure it out from there. You should be able to tell by looking.

I live in a 5000 sq ft home so it's small, my daughter lives in a 1200 sq ft home so it's large. Question is "Do you like it?"
