Call the doctor who prescribed the Haldol IMMEDIATELY. The psychotropic medication has a major side effect called parametal side effects and shaking is one of those. He may chose to add a medication for the shaking, reduce the Haldol or change the medication.

I strongly recommend that if you are using your internist or family doctor to prescribe the medication, you get an appointment with a licensed psychiatrist!

these types of medications often have side effects that are unpleasant, but if you need the medication because of a health problem you should NOT just stop it. Make a doctor's appointment immediately and tell the nurse on the phone what the problem is. Your levels may be too high, or you may just need a change in medication. These meds often take up to 2 weeks to reach the level you need so be very careful what you do without a doctor's advice. Don't delay in making an appointment.

You really must tell your doctor about this. Call him/her as soon as possible so that your suffering will end soon. Haldol is an old medication. There are several newer ones available that have less side effects. I took Haldol in 1994 and it was absolutely horrible!

sounds as though you are experiencing what are called extrapyramidal symptoms(EPS) which many ppl experience with some antipsychotic medications. See you doc to see if an antipsychotic with a lesser chance of EPSis an option. You should probably know that Benedryl can elleviate or decrease the EPS from these meds, another med like that is Cogentin but Benedryl is easier to obtain since it is sold over the counter in allergy medications or sleeping medications(check active ingredients for diphenhydramine to be sure it's benadryl).
